Deutschland trägt dem Kulturgutschutz u.a. durch das Kulturgutschutzgesetz und das Kulturgüterrückgabegesetz Rechnung und hat damit das UNESCO-Übereinkommen von 1970 als auch die EU-Richtlinie zur Rückgabe von Kulturgut innerhalb des EU-Binnenmarktes (93/7/EWG) umgesetzt.
Kulturgut, das aus der EU in Drittstaaten ausgeführt werden soll (USA, Schweiz u.a.) und den Kategorien der Verordnung (EG) Nr. 116/2009 unterliegt, bedarf einer Ausfuhrgenehmigung.

It regulates the restriction and prohibition of the substances lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium as well as of certain brominated flame retardants (PBB and PBDE).
