Zum Beispiel die unerschütterliche Burg von San Leo, die als Hüter der Geheimnisse Cagliostros mit ihren Mauern und Wehrtürmen auf dem Gipfel eines steil abfallenden Felsens thront ; und die von Sassocorvaro, die in ihrer spektakulären Form einem Schiff ähnelt ; oder die herrliche Festung von Sant’Agata Feltria, die Rocca Fregoso.
Auch das Schloss von Belforte, das auf einem Ausläufer liegt und über eine Brücke mit dem kleinen, aus wenigen Häusern bestehenden Ort aus dem 16. Jhdrt. verbunden ist.
Das älteste Schloss dieser Gegend ist jedoch das bereits im 5. Jahrhundert dokumentierte Pietrarubbia, Heimat von Guido da Montefeltro, der von Dante im 28. Gesang erwähnt wird.
