Die Anleihen dienten vor allem der Refinanzierung von vier fällig gewordenen Fremdwährungsanleihen über umgerechnet insgesamt 1,4 Mrd. € sowie der vorzeitigen Rückzahlung von Zinslosen Darlehen [siehe rechts] an den Bund.
Zunächst emittierten wir nach unserer Europa-Roadshow im Juni zwei Euro-Benchmark-Anleihen über jeweils 500 Mio. € mit Laufzeiten von fünf beziehungsweise zehn Jahren.

Durch diese Transaktion konnten die ursprünglichen Fälligkeiten von 2012 und 2014 auf die Jahre 2017, 2018 und 2021 verschoben und der Zinsaufwand reduziert werden.
