Das Japanische ist keine auf Buchstaben beruhende Lautschrift (wie Arabisch, Deutsch, Englisch, etc.), sondern eine ideografische Schrift, d.h. jedes Symbol steht für eine bestimmte Bedeutung, und ein Großteil solcher Ideogramme ist aus Piktogrammen (also Bildzeichen) zusammengesetzt.
Dieses Prinzip hat Al Saadi so nachhaltig begeistert, dass er es für seine Kunst adaptierte.
