Die Abteilung Medizinische Biotechnologie besteht aus zwei angeschlossenen Arbeitsgruppen – Kryokonservierung & Zellkultur-Automatisierung und Biomedizinische Optik – deren gemeinsames Ziel die Standardisierung und Automatisierung von Zellkulturabläufen mit Hilfe mikrofluidischer Ansätze darstellt, um somit die Effizienz und Reproduzierbarkeit der angewandten Protokolle zu erhöhen.

The Medical Biotechnology Department is made up of two connected working groups – Cryopreservation & Cell Culture Automation, and Biomedical Optics – whose joint objective is the standardization and automation of cell culture processes by using microfluidic methods in order to increase the efficiency and the reproducibility of the applied protocols.

www.nvidia.deAls Isaac Newton in der zweiten Hälfte des siebzehnten Jahrhunderts die Zerlegbarkeit des weißen Lichts in ein buntes Spektrum ( spectrum = Erscheinung, Gespenst ) entdeckte, ordnete er den Strahlen je nach den Farben, die sie hervorriefen, verschiedene Brechungsindizes zu.
Er untersuchte, wie sich die Lichtfarben überlagern (additive Farbmischung), benannte sieben gut unterscheidbare Farben im Spektrum, ließ es aber mit einer unendlichen Vielzahl von Farbtönen sein Bewenden haben und wandte sein Hauptaugenmerk der Optik zu.

www.itp.uni-hannover.deWhen Isaac Newton discovered the splitting of white light into a colourful spectrum ( = spectre, apparition ) in the second half of the seventeenth century, he assigned different refractive indices to the rays, depending on the different colours which they evoked.
He investigated the addition of different colours (additive colour mixing), named seven distinctive hues in the spectrum but left it at an infinity of different hues, focusing his interest on optics.
