Die deutsche Entwicklungszusammenarbeit ist seit 1993 im Auftrag des Bundesministeriums für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung ( BMZ ) in Südafrika tätig.
Seit 1996 gibt es ein Büro in Pretoria.

In Südafrika hat eine Allianz aus Ministerien, Hochschulen, NROs und Privatunternehmen eine Initiative zur Umweltbildung für Lehrer gestartet.
Diese Allianz ist Partner des GIZ Vorhabens Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung.

In South Africa, an alliance of Government ministries, universities, NGOs and private sector companies has launched an initiative on environmental education for teachers.
