In Kirgisistan hat die GIZ derzeit rund 160 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter, davon etwa 40 entsandte Auslandsmitarbeiter und CIM-Fachkräfte.
Beim Übergang von der Zentralverwaltungswirtschaft zur wettbewerbsorientierten, sozialen Marktwirtschaft ist Kirgisistan mit erheblichen politischen, sozialen und wirtschaftlichen Herausforderungen konfrontiert.
Nach zwei Revolutionen 2005 und 2010 ist das Land heute die einzige parlamentarische Republik in der Region, auch wenn sich die politische Lage nur langsam stabilisiert.

Eine Ästhetik der Komplexität: innerhalb einer Zone des permanenten Übergangs, des ständigen Entgleitens und Vergehens der grafischen Formationen entsteht ein „dynamisches System“, das nicht länger einer Idee von Ordnung und Einfachheit folgt.

Hier liegt selbst bei geophysikalischen Methoden mit bereits lange vorhandenem Instrumentarium ein beträchtlicher Handlungsbedarf, da der Übergang vom Labor zur Feldmessung bei den Instrumenten und von der Programmentwicklung zur Feldanwendung von Software in den meisten Fällen alles andere als einfach oder naheliegend ist.

Here, even for geophysical techniques with long existing instrumentation, there is still a large need for action; both the transition from laboratory to field measurements for instruments and the transition from program development to field application for software is inmost cases everything but easy and straightforward.
