Am Abend dann die angekündigte Eröffnungsfeier in der Mehrzweckhalle von Haidmühle mit Ansprache des Bürgermeisters.
Danach ging es als Fackelzug zurück zum Festzelt am Stake Out, begleitet von der örtlichen Blaskapelle.
Im Festzelt wurde danach die Eröffnung von allen Teams gefeiert und für Mauro Caputo eine Schweigeminute abgehalten.

From there in a torchlight procession and accompanied by the local brass band, everyone went back to the marquee at the stake out.
Following a minute’s silence in memory of Mauro Caputo, all teams celebrated here the opening of the 2013 European Championships.
