Beteiligung bestimmter Drittstaaten
Am Europäischen Jahr der Erziehung durch Sport teilnehmen konnten die 25 Mitgliedstaaten sowie die Länder der Europäischen Freihandelsgemeinschaft (EFTA) und des Europäischen Wirtschaftsraums (EWR) gemäß den im EWR-Abkommen festgelegten Bedingungen.
Außerdem konnten Bulgarien und Rumänien entsprechend den Bedingungen der einschlägigen Europaabkommen sowie die Türkei auf dem Umweg über zusätzliche Mittel teilnehmen..

The European Year was open to participation by the 25 Member States, the countries of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and the European Economic Area (EEA), in accordance with the conditions laid down in the EEA Agreement.
Bulgaria and Romania were also able to participate in accordance with the conditions laid down in their respective European Agreements and Turkey by means of additional appropriations.
