Prof. Dr. Gesine Witt forschte und lehrtezu verschiedenen Arbeitsschwerpunkten, beispielsweise Spuren- und Ultraspurenanalytik organischer Fremdstoffe in limnischen und marinen Gewässern und die Entwicklung, Kalibrierung und Evaluierung von Passiv- und Gleichgewichtssammlern zur analytischen Messung von polaren und unpolaren organischen Spurenstoffen in Wasser und Biota.
Prof. Dr. Gesine Witt ist Dozentin im weiterbildenden Master-Studiengang » Umweltschutz « und leitete bis 2007 den Prüfungsausschuss dieses Studiengangs.
