«Wild-heres-wilare» hätte unser Dorf in frühester Zeit geheissen und wäre also der Hof gewesen, auf dem der Alemanne Wild-heri oder Wild-hari mit seiner Sippschaft wohnte.
Später regierten bekannte oberländische Freiherrengeschlechter über das Dorf, so die Burgherren von Rothefluh/Unspunnen, aber auch die Herren von Wädiswil, Weissenburg und Scharnachtal.

In ancient times, our village was called “Wild-heres-wilare” and hence was the settlement where the Alemanni Wild-heri or Wild-hari lived with his tribe.
Later on, the village was ruled by famous dynasties of Oberland barons, including the Barons of Rothefluh/Unspunnen as well as the Lords of Wädenswil, Weissenburg and Scharnachtal.
