Disorienting, facetious, polarising – Alois Mosbacher, one of the neo-savages or “Neue Wilde”, has featured prominently in the art world ever since he first caused a splash in the 1980s, when the reputedly dead art of painting was revived.
With his figurative sensuality, painterly bravado and narrative vigour and drawing on a great number of different sources for inspiration, he is prepared to this day to risk new departures in his painting.
