Genauer wurden bisher nur die Kombinationswirkungen einiger besonders häufig und in großen Mengen vorkommender Arbeitsstoffe (meistens Lösemittel) untereinander und die Kombinationswirkungen solcher Arbeitsstoffe mit besonders häufig vorkommenden Medikamenten wie Schmerz- und Schlafmitteln untersucht.
Die bisher umfassendste Veröffentlichung dazu, erarbeitet von H. Greim und W. Dessau von der Gesellschaft für Strahlen- und Umweltforschung, erschien 1985 unter dem Titel "Kombinationswirkungen organischer Lösungsmittel.
