Im Bundesarchiv steht in Beständen oberster Reichsbehörden und in der Abteilung Filmarchiv weiteres wichtiges Archivgut zur Geschichte der „ Euthanasie “ zur Verfügung.
Das Interesse der Öffentlichkeit und die unübersichtliche Quellenlage haben das Bundesarchiv veranlasst, mit Hilfe der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft ein Inventar der Quellen zur Geschichte der „Euthanasie“-Verbrechen 1939-1945 zu erstellen, das in elektronischer Form vorliegt und kontinuierlich ergänzt und korrigiert wird.

Die Kopien gehen im April 2002 an das Bundesarchiv über, welches bis Ende 2003 auf Anfrage der Unternehmen und Verbände die Kopien zurückgeben muss.
Ebenfalls bis Ende 2003 muss eine Regelung für die Offenlegung der UEK-Akten getroffen werden.
