All issues must pass through COREPER before they are included on the agenda for a Council meeting.
COREPER meets in two configurations, COREPER I and COREPER II, which deal with different subject areas.
The Committee is chaired by the rotating Presidency ( i.e. Ireland from January to June 2013 ).
