Wealth Accounting and Valuation of Ecosystem Services ( WAVES ) Das WAVES-Projekt der Weltbank ( Wealth Accounting and Valuation of Ecosystem Services ) versteht sich als ein Netzwerk von Entwicklungs- und Industrieländern mit dem vorrangigen Ziel, den Wert der Natur ( natürliche Ressourcen, Ökosystemdienstleistungen ) durch die Einrichtung entsprechender statistischer Konten angemessen in der volkswirtschaftlichen Gesamtrechnung zu berücksichtigen.
Das WAVES Projekt hat die Zielsetzung, in sechs bis zehn Ländern umweltökonomische Gesamtrechnungen auf Basis des Systems of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) einzuführen.
Das Vorhaben Rioplus kooperiert mit dem WAVES-Projekt.

The WAVES project aims to introduce integrated environmental and economic accounting in six to ten countries based on the UN’s System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA).
The Rioplus project collaborates with WAVES.

Das überarbeitete SEEA Central Framework wurde 2012 von der UN-Statistikkommission angenommen.
Die Arbeiten an drei weiteren Teilen des SEEA, nämlich "Implementation Strategy", "Experimental Ecosystem Accounts" und "Applications and Extensions" sollen 2013 abgeschlossen sein.
