Teekay LNG beabsichtigt, noch vor Lieferung in der ersten Hälfte des Jahres 2016 langfristige Verträge für beide LNG-Tanker mit ihren je 173.400 Kubikmetern unter Dach und Fach zu bringen.
Die neue Bestellung steht in einer Reihe mit der Mitteilung von Anfang Dezember, dass das amerikanische Transportunternehmen TOTE zwei neu gebaute Containerschiffe mit je 3.100 Standardcontainern bestellt hat, die jeweils von einem 8L70ME-GI-Motor angetrieben werden, mit der Option auf den Kauf von drei weiteren Schiffen.
Dabei handelt es sich um die erste kommerzielle Bestellung für diesen Motorentyp aus dem langsamlaufenden Motorensortiment von MAN Diesel & Turbo, der offiziell die Bezeichnung ME-C-GI (Typ M, Elektronisch Gesteuert (Electronically Controlled), Gaseinspritzung (Gas Injection)) trägt.

The new order follows the early December announcement that TOTE, the American shipping company, has ordered two 3,100 TEU newbuilding container ships, each powered by an 8L70ME-GI engine, with an option for three additional vessels.
The announcement represents the first commercial order for the engine type, officially designated as ME-C-GI (M-type, Electronically Controlled, GI for Gas Injection) in the MAN Diesel & Turbo low-speed portfolio.
