They explored the role of sustainable lifestyles in the public discourse and in sustainability research and they checked their own lifestyles on their aptitude for the future.
On base of their own results the adolescents createed areas of practice in which they configure their lifestyles more sustainable and communicate their insights with their own means of expression to coeval pupils, to the scientific community, and via Web 2.0 media to the public.
Current socio-scientific research findings on sustainable lifestyles and target-group-specific sustainability communication were the theoretical foundations for the project.

Darüber hinaus schufen die Jugendlichen auf Basis der eigenen Forschungsergebnisse Handlungsfelder, in denen sie ihre Lebensstile nachhaltiger gestalten, und kommunizierten ihre Erkenntnisse mit ihren eigenen Ausdrucksmitteln an Schüler / innen ihres Alters, an die wissenschaftliche Gemeinschaft und über Web 2.0 Medien an die Öffentlichkeit.
Die theoretischen Grundlagen für das Projekt bildeten aktuelle sozialwissenschaftliche Forschungserkenntnisse zu nachhaltigen Lebensstilen und zielgruppenspezifischer Nachhaltigkeitskommunikation.
