Computer Science provides the essential instruments to deal with digitized media, hardware and software, and especially the systematic integration of work processes - from the recording and generation, via the storing, to the reproduction and distribution.
The Compact Disc and its variants CD-Audio, computer memory CD-ROM, and CD-Video, demonstrates how a basic technology of Computer Science changes different media simultaneously.
Besides the transformation of traditional media, it becomes possible to integrate different media which leads again to the generation of new media.
campuskonzert.informatik.hu-berlin.deDie Informatik stellt wesentliche Instrumente zur Behandlung derart digitalisierter Medien zur Verfügung, Hardware wie Software und vor allem die systemische Integration der Arbeitsvorgänge - von der Aufnahme und Erzeugung über die Speicherung bis zur Wiedergabe und Verbreitung.
Die Compact Disc und ihre Varianten von der Audio CD über Computerspeicher CD-ROM hin zu Video CDs demonstriert, wie eine Basistechnik der Informatik gleichzeitig die unterschiedlichsten Medien digital verändert.
Neben der Wandlung tradierter Medien wird eine vorher kaum mögliche Integration unterschiedlicher Medien möglich, die selber wieder zur Erzeugung neuer Medien führt.
