An improvement of this situation is the goal of the SORPIC project : by measuring radiative and microphysical properties of Arctic clouds, help to understand their impact on Arctic climate.
The VERDI project partners have conducted a measurement in Inuvik in the Northwest Territories ( Canadian Arctic ) in April and May 2012.
The Alfred Wegener Polar Research Institute ( AWI ) provided their Polar-5 research aircraft.
