My research focuses on the application and development of hydrological models.
The focus is on the modeling of semi-arid areas of southern Africa as part of SASSCAL (Southern African Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management) a joint initiative of Angola, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Germany to deal with the consequences of global change in Southern Africa.
My main research areas include the basins of the Berg Rives Verlorenvlei (Western Cape, South Africa) and the Notwane River and Dam (Botswana / South Africa).

This year, 22 students from Germany and different countries in Africa, among them South Africa, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Kenia and Malawi, will go on a study excursion through Namibia from the 2nd of March until the 18th of March 2014.
Since 2007 a total of 162 students from Germany and Africa, five from Namibia among them, have profited from this programme.
