After doing vocational training and starting a degree in engineering, Oliver Kluck went to the University of Leipzig in 2006 to study dramaturgy, prose, essay-writing and new media.
In 2007, he wrote his first play (Courage Gives Courage) and published a collection of stories, Ein Himmel voller Bratschen (A Sky Full of Violas), which were followed in 2008 by the screenplay Ukrainische Verhältnisse (Ukrainian Relations).
