The research group ’ s fields of activity are mathematical methods for the specification, design and validation of complex software and hardware systems, particularly physically distributed and concurrently operating applications.
Among the central issues addressed are synchronization mechanisms, the transition between synchrony and asynchrony, abstraction and refinement, compositionality problems, and the semantics of model-driven design languages.

Also included are examinations of a more philological character, covering for instance Elohim as a designation for God or the ancient Hebrew verb system.

Diese beschäftigen sich unter anderem mit dem Charakter der alttestamentlichen Geschichtsüberlieferungen und mit methodischen Kategorien wie Synchronie oder Formgeschichte.
Hinzu kommen stärker philologisch ausgerichtete Untersuchungen etwa zur Gottesbezeichnung Elohim oder dem althebräischen Verbalsystem.
