Around 1877 “ Penny Donation Guilds ” are formed as a replacement for regular collections of donations for the Sarepta Deaconesses ’ Mother House.
Each guild consists of a maximum of ten persons, and each of them promised to donate five to ten pennies to Bethel each month.
