Since 2003, 25 black rhinos have been resettled into the North Luangwa Park and there are now 30.
The project has by now become a national symbol for wildlife protection in Zambia.

Not only private persons and wildlife protection organisations use the service but also local regional authorities and agencies.
Every year up to 30 Roe Deer injured by motor vehicles are brought in by road patrols, as are dozens of decoy wild birds confiscated by the forest police and game wardens, and parrots and iguanas impounded by the species protection agencies.
www.komitee.deÜber die regionale Rufnummer 118 ist rund um die Uhr die Notfallzentrale des Wildtierzentrums erreichbar, ein gut ausgestatteter Wagen ist im 24-Stunden-Dienst im Einsatz und birgt verunglückte Tiere.
Dabei wenden sich nicht nur Privatleute und Tierschutzvereine an das Wildtierzentrum, sondern auch Behörden aus der gesamten Region.
So werden zum Beispiel in jedem Jahr bis zu 30 angefahrene Rehe von der Straßenwacht eingeliefert, ebenso Dutzende von der Forstpolizei und Jagdaufsehern konfiszierte Lockvögel und inzwischen sogar von den Artenschutzbehörden beschlagnahmte Papageien und Leguane.
