Die GIZ leistet Organisations- und Managementberatung für das Konferenzsekretariat, damit es seine Koordinationsaufgaben bei der Umsetzung der Rohstoffinitiative wahrnehmen, die Mitgliedsstaaten kompetent beraten und aktiv in internationalen Gremien zur Zertifizierung von Rohstoffen mitwirken kann.
Mit Fach- und Prozessberatung sowie Finanzierungsleistungen fördert die GIZ zusätzlich gezielt drei Instrumente der Initiative:

Die gesamten jährlichen Ausgaben der DAM (derzeit ca. 600.000,00 EUR/Jahr) werden etwa zur Hälfte durch Teilnahmeentgelte bzw. Finanzierungsleistungen gedeckt, die andere Hälfte wird gemäß dem Akademie-Abkommens durch die Länder getragen.
