Es handelt sich um eine Collage aus Notizen, Reflexionen, Beobachtungen und Auszügen aus Gesprächen, die ihren Ausgang bei einer Betrachtung Breitenaus als historischer Besserungsanstalt und ihrer institutionellen Geschichte und Entwicklung als Gedenkstätte, Museum und Archiv genommen haben.
Die Audioarbeit bezieht sich auf eine Auswahl an Dokumenten, Objekten, fotografischen und Text- beziehungsweise literarischen Materialien, Filmen, Dokumentationen und Kunstwerken ebenso wie Gesprächen mit Gunnar Richter, Dietfrid Krause-Vilmar, Mechthild Bereswill und Karen Wagels, Ines Schaber und Avery F. Gordon, Bernhard Lauer, Clemens von Wedemeyer und Péter György.
d13.documenta.deTo Be Corrected – Abstracts for a Hörspiel, is a radio play by Lívia Páldi ’s about Breitenau, that will be broadcast on July 22 and presented at a “ public listening ” at the Ständehaus.
It is a collage of notes, reflections, observations, and excerpts of conversations that departs both from looking at Breitenau as a historical site of correction, and its institutional history and development as a memorial, museum, and archive.
The audio work references a selection of documents, objects, photographic, textual/literary materials, films, documentaries, and artworks, as well as talks with Gunnar Richter, Dietfried Krause-Vilmar, Mechthild Bereswill and Karen Wagels, Ines Schaber and Avery F. Gordon, Bernhard Lauer, Clemens von Wedemeyer, and Péter György.
