Aminetou Mint El Moctar, die Vorsitzende der Frauenrechtsorganisation Association des femmes chefs de familles ( AFCF ), hat eine Morddrohung in Form einer Fatwa erhalten, die der Anführer der islamistischen Gruppierung Ahbab Errassoul, Yehdhih Ould Dahi, ausgesprochen hat.
In einem in den Lokalmedien veröffentlichten Interview hatte Aminetou Mint El Moctar ein faires Gerichtsverfahren für Cheikh Ould Mkheitir gefordert, einen 28-jährigen Mann, der wegen Abfalls vom Glauben unter Anklage steht und gegenwärtig im Gefängnis der Stadt Nouadhibou im Norden Mauretaniens inhaftiert ist.
Kurz nach der Veröffentlichung des Interviews wurde am 5. Juni eine Fatwa online gestellt, in der es hieß:

In an interview published by local media, Aminetou Mint El Moctar asked for a fair trial for Cheikh Ould Mkheitir, a 28-year-old man charged with apostasy and currently being held in the Nouadhibou Prison, northern Mauritania.
"Whoever kills her or rips out both her eyes will be rewarded by Allah", says the fatwa, published online on 5 June, shortly after the publication of the article.
