Beim Durchfahren einer Mautstation auf den österreichischen Autobahnen löst die Toll Collect-OBU - genau wie eine GO-Box - eine Mauttransaktion aus, die dann von der Mautbrücke an das Rechenzentrum der ASFINAG zur Abrechnung übermittelt wird.
Trotz Verwendung einer einzigen, gemeinsamem On-Board Unit besteht mit beiden Mautbetreibern weiterhin ein eigener Vertrag.
