1909 wird das St. Gallische Sanatorium für Lungenkrankheiten in Walenstadtberg feierlich eröffnet.
1937 wird das Sanatorium zu einem Krankenhaus mit Kranken- und Röntgenabteilung umgebaut.
Durch die Einführung der antibiotischen Behandlung von Tuberkulose-Patienten wird die Kurdauer stets kürzer, weshalb die Klinik ab 1965 auch Patienten ohne Tuberkulose offen steht.

In 1937 the sanatorium was converted into a hospital with a medical and radiology department.
With the introduction of antibiotic treatment of tuberculosis patients, treatment periods became ever shorter, hence the clinic also being open to patients without tuberculosis since 1965.
