Reproduzierbarkeitsmessungen von Keratometern verschiedener Hersteller an hochgenauen torischen Prüfkugeln brachten folgende Standardabweichungen des flachen/steilen Radius (in mm) bei exakter Fokussierung:

www.augenklinik.uni-wuerzburg.deDie Reproduzierbarkeit am lebenden Auge ( augengesunde Probanden im Alter bis 60 Jahre ) lag bei den untersuchten Geräten in gleicher Grössenordnung.
Die Messungen zeigten folgende Standardabweichungen der Radien (in mm):

www.augenklinik.uni-wuerzburg.deBei Endmaßen der Toleranzklasse 0 muß die aus Messungen in der Mitte und an den vier Ecken ermittelte Längendifferenz innerhalb von ± 0,12 µm liegen ( ISO 3650 ).
Unter der Annahme, daß diese Änderung an den Meßflächen entlang der 9 mm langen kurzen Kante auftritt und daß das Mittenmaß in einem Kreis mit dem Radius 0,5 mm angetastet wird, wird eine Korrektion aufgrund einer nicht-zentrischen Antastung auf maximal ±6,7 nm geschätzt.

Assuming that this variation occurs on the measuring faces along the short edge of length 9 mm and that the central length is measured inside a circle of radius 0,5 mm the correction due to central misalignment of the contacting point is estimated to be within ±6,7 nm.
