The veiling of the Reichstag building by the artist couple Christo and Jeanne-Claude attracted attention worldwide.
Their “ Wrapped Reichstag ” project ran from 23 June to 6 July 1995 and drew more than five million visitors.

Wochenlang hatte das Team von Christo gearbeitet, um 109.400 Quadratmeter Stoff mit rund 25 Kilometer Gurten sicher an den vorgeschriebenen Stellen zu befestigen.

The majority of the visitors can scarcely have been aware of how much work there was behind the wrapping.
For weeks, Christo’s team had worked to fasten 109,400 square metres of fabric securely in the specified locations with the help of about 25 kilometres of straps.
