Daneben kommt Chorthippus brunneus auch in Magerrasen, trockenen Wirtschaftswiesen, an Wegrändern und Böschungen, in Ruderalgelände, ja selbst in Gärten und auf lückigen Parkplätzen und Verkehrsinseln vor, ist hier aber oft nur in wenigen Individuen präsent.
