Nach ihren Abschlüssen in Jura und Kultureller Anthropologie an der Universität Utrecht gründete Carolijn Terwindt ein Projekt für urbane Olympische Spiele in Amsterdam, die das Ziel hatten, den sozialen Zusammenhalt der Stadt zu verbessern.
Im Anschluss daran schrieb sie ihre Doktorarbeit “ Ethnographies of Contentious Criminalization ” an der Columbia Universität in New York City und war Dozentin und wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin in Utrecht, Amsterdam, und Freiburg.
Beim ECCHR arbeitet sie im Programm Wirtschaft und Menschenrechte, mit Schwerpunkt Asien.
