Die Glória funicular wurde am 24. Oktober 1885 eröffnet und seitdem fahren zwei Seilbahnen täglich den Hügel hinauf und hinunter und transportieren Einheimische und Touristen auf dieser Fahrt, die zwar von der Landschaft her nicht sehr viel bietet, aber trotzdem einmalig und sehr schön ist!
Diese Strecke ist die am meisten frequentierte Lissabons und auch diejenige, die für die Touristen am besten zu erreichen ist, da sie gleich neben dem Haupttourismusinformationsbüro im Palácio Foz beginnt.

The Glória is the busiest funicular in Lisbon and also the most accessible for tourists as it lies next door to the main tourist information office in the Palácio Foz.
