Solar Impulse erstes Prototyp-Flugzeug wurde mit zwei neuen Weltrekorden in der Kategorie experimentelle Solarflugzeuge von der Fédération Aéronautique Internationale ( FAI ), während der diesjährigen Crossing Frontiers Mission Flüge, die Europa mit Nordafrika verbunden haben, ausgezeichnet.
Die Rekorde (Unterklasse: "solar-powered aeroplane") betreffen beide die erste Etappe der Mission von Payerne (Schweiz) nach Madrid (Spanien).
