A structured stamp of silicone rubber ( Polydimethylsiloxane, PDMS ) is wetted with solution of the respective biomolecules, dried and impressed onto the surface.
As it is known from normal company stamps , a negative image of the stamp ’ s structure is printed onto the surface .
What makes Micro-Contact Printing so special is that very tiny structures with a resolution of a few microns can be formed easily.
www.ibmt.fraunhofer.deDabei wird ein Stempel aus Silikongummi ( Poly- ( dimethyl-siloxan ), PDMS ) mit einer Lösung des zu übertragenden Biomoleküls benetzt, getrocknet und auf die zu beschichtende Oberfläche aufgedrückt.
Ist der Stempel strukturiert, überträgt sich dessen Struktur als „ Negativ “ auf die Oberfläche, so wie man es z. B. von einem normalen Firmenstempel her kennt.
Das Besondere des Micro-Contact Printing ist, dass man sehr feine Strukturen übertragen kann, die bis weit unterhalb eines Mikrometers aufgelöst sind.
