Am 18. Februar 1943 wurden die Geschwister Sophie und Hans Scholl bei ihrer letzten Flugblattaktion im Lichthof der LMU verhaftet und nur vier Tage später zusammen mit ihrem Freund Christoph Probst in Stadelheim hingerichtet.
Auch weitere Mitglieder der Weißen Rose fanden im Laufe des Jahres 1943 den Tod , so Professor Kurt Huber , Alexander Schmorell und Willi Graf .
Ein Orgelkonzert im Lichthof der LMU soll auf den Tag genau 71 Jahre später an die Geschwister Scholl und die Widerstandsgruppe Weiße Rose erinnern:
