Anselm Kiefer wurde 1945 in Donauschingen geboren.
Von 1969 bis 1972 studierte er Kunst an der Staatlichen Hochschule der Bildenden Kunst in Freiburg bei Peter Dreher , in Karlsruhe bei Horst Antes und an der Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie bei Joseph Beuys .
Ab 1971 lebte und arbeitete Kiefer im Odenwald, ehe er 1992 nach Barjac in Frankreich übersiedelte.

Die Auseinandersetzung mit einem einzigen Motiv, das über einen längeren Zeitraum hinweg beobachtet und in seiner materiellen Veränderung erfasst wird, verbindet diese beiden Arbeiten.

While the wall drawing ‘ Swarm ’ by Vroni Schwegler is on view in the foyer , the 80-part series ‘ Kleeblume ’ ( Clover Flower ) by Peter Dreher , a former Karlsruhe academy professor , forms the concluding image visitors take with them upon leaving .
What these two works share is the exploration of an isolated pictorial subject that is observed and recorded as it materially mutates or disintegrates over a lengthy period of time.
