In dem Arbeitsbereich Allgemeine Pädagogik und Schulpädagogik werden Bildungsinstitutionen in ihrer historischen Genese und Abhängigkeit von ihren jeweiligen gesellschaftlichen und disziplingeschichtlichen Rahmenbedingungen analysiert .
Zugleich werden Individuen sowie Generationen darauf hin untersucht, wie sie institutionelle Angebote im Bereich von Erziehung, Sozialisation und Unterricht wahrnehmen, verarbeiten, tradieren und/oder verändern.

The Department of General Education and School Education is focused on analysing educational institutions from the perspective of their historical origins and their co-dependence on the respective social and discipline-relevant historical circumstances.
At the same time, both individuals and generations are studied in order to examine how they perceive, process, hand down and/or modify institutional offerings in the fields of education, socialisation and classroom teaching.
