Gemeinsam mit Sebastian Henzl setzte er die Seite noch rasch vor Ende des Wintersemsters 2005 auf, um rechtzeitig zur Prüfungszeit Mitschriften zum Download anbieten zu können.

Originally this site was a private project planned by one of our programmers , Florian Hahn , who wanted to share his scripts from lectures held at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna .
Together with Sebastian Henzl he launched this project in the winter semester of the year 2005. Ethnomitschriften (engl. ethnoscripts) grew so popular that the students' organization took notice of it and sponsored this project.
