Die Studie EURTAC ( European Randomised Trial of Tarceva vs. Chemotherapy ) wurde von der Spanish Lung Cancer Group ( SLCG ) konzipiert und gefördert und zusammen mit Prüfärzten aus Frankreich und Italien in Zusammenarbeit mit Roche durchgeführt .
Von Februar 2007 bis Januar 2011 wurden 1275 Patienten auf EGFR-aktivierende Mutationen untersucht, und 174 Patienten wurden für die Behandlung mit Tarceva oder platinbasierter Chemotherapie randomisiert.

EURTAC ( European Randomised Trial of Tarceva vs. Chemotherapy ) was designed and sponsored by the Spanish Lung Cancer Group ( SLCG ) and conducted together with investigators from France and Italy in cooperation with Roche .
From February 2007 to January 2011, 1,275 patients were screened for EGFR activating mutations and 174 patients were randomly assigned to receive Tarceva or platinum-based chemotherapy.

Seit 5 Jahren wird der CT-gestützte „ Lung Cancer Screening and Intervention trial “ ( LUSI-Studie ) zur Frühentdeckung des Bronchialkarzinoms durchgeführt .
Auch werden Verfahren für das Therapiemonitoring entwickelt, z.B. Dual-Energy CT zur Charakterisierung von Gewebeveränderungen.
