In Feld- und Laborarbeiten haben Forscher der Universitäten Mainz und Antananarivo nun Lemurenpopulationen in Südmadagaskar untersucht und dort eine bisher unbekannte Fettschwanzmakiart entdeckt.
Die Ergebnisse des Forschungsprojekts wurden kürzlich in der Fachzeitschrift Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution veröffentlicht .
"Wir forschen bereits seit einigen Jahren gemeinsam mit madagassischen Wissenschaftlern zur Diversität der Lemuren", berichtet Dr. Andreas Hapke vom Institut für Anthropologie der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz (JGU).

The findings of the research project have recently been published in the journal Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution .
"Together with Malagasy scientists, we have been studying the diversity of lemurs for several years now," said Dr. Andreas Hapke of the Institute of Anthropology at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU).
