Bei den Pflanzenschutzmitteln gelten vor allem jene als besonders gefährlich, die den Wirkstoff Neonicotinoid enthalten.
Neonicotinoide wirken sich auf das zentrale Nervensystem der Tiere aus und blockieren dort wichtige Funktionen, Orientierungssinn, Lern- und Kommunikationsvermögen schwinden.
