Die Separatoren trennen aus der Plantagenmilch einen Großteil der wässrigen Phase, die sogenannte „Skim milk“, sowie weitere Verunreinigungen ab.
Die Plantagenmilch, auch „Field latex“ genannt, enthält ca. 30 Prozent Latexanteile.
