Erstes Rennen für die Spindrift 2
Der größte Trimaran der Welt, die Spindrift 2, wird in der 45. Auflage des Klassikers „ Rolex Fastnet “ teilnehmen.

First race for the giant trimaran Spindrift 2
After a studious July, punctuated by two long, intensive training sessions, Spindrift 2, the largest racing trimaran in the world, will compete in the 45th edition of the classic, legendary and very British Rolex Fastnet Race.
www.marinepool.deDas Fastnet kommt für die Besatzung der Spindrift 2 zum richtigen Zeitpunkt, ist es doch die perfekte Möglichkeit, sich in einem ersten Rennen unter Wettbewerbsbedingungen zu messen.

www.marinepool.deWhile few boats can compete on paper with the intrinsic performance advantages of Spindrift 2, the predicted weather condition will mean that, among the 300 or so competitors, there will many more boats of different type who will be perfectly capable of handling the upwind conditions that are forecast.

Nach der Bootstaufe am heutigen Tag und der Präsentation von Spindrift 2 in den Farben des Teams, wird der gigantische Trimaran einem harten Trainingsprogramm unterzogen, bevor er im August erstmals bei einer Regatta antritt:

After today ´ s christening ceremony and presentation of Spindrift 2 in its new colours, the giant multihull will be run through a series of training sessions off the French coast before the kick-off of its first race: the Rolex Fastnet in August where it clearly is the favourite for line honours.
