Sustainable Tourism Management In der Vertiefung Sustainable Tourism Management werden die tourismusrelevanten Wechselwirkungen zwischen Ökonomie , Ökologie und Gesellschaft behandelt .

Die Studierenden befassen sich mit den Auswirkungen von Umweltveränderungen auf den Tourismus und den Risiken, die dieser aus ökologischer und gesellschaftlicher Sicht darstellt.

Der Global Sustainable Tourism Council ( GSTC ) ist eine globale Initiative zur Förderung eines nachhaltigen Tourismus, die 2007 vom United Nations Environment Programme ( UNEP ), der United Nations Foundation, der United Nations World Tourism Organization ( UNWTO ) und der Rainforest Alliance gegründet wurde.

Inhaltliches Kernstück des GSTC sind die Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria ( ebenfalls GSTC ) , in denen die maßgeblichen Inhalte für Nachhaltigkeit im Tourismus verankert sind .

Ziel ist es, bestehende Auszeichnungen und Labels in der Touristik mit den GSTC-Kriterien abzugleichen und bei Erfüllung der Kernkriterien gewissermaßen zu „akkreditieren“ sowie neue Märkte für nachhaltigen Tourismus zu erschließen.

The Global Sustainable Tourism Council ( GSTC ) was founded in 2007 by the United Nations Environment Programme ( UNEP ), the United Nations Foundation, the United Nations World Tourism Organization ( UNWTO ) and the Rainforest Alliance.

The GSTC focuses on the Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria ( also called GSTC ) , which lay down the key contents for sustainability in tourism .

The goal is to compare existing awards and labels in tourism with the GSTC criteria and basically “accredit” them if the core criteria are met, as well as tap new markets for sustainable tourism.
