Die Lehrveranstaltung gibt zunächst eine Einführung in die völkerrechtlichen Grundfragen der internationalen Wirtschaftsordnung, um darauf aufbauend die einzelnen Themen vertiefend zu behandeln.
Den ersten Schwerpunkt bildet die internationale Handelsordnung (GATT, WTO), insbesondere die laufende Doha-Runde und das Streitbeilegungsverfahren der WTO.
Darüber hinaus wird das Verhältnis zwischen WTO und EU analysiert.
