Der Abzinsungsfaktor ( vn ) wird auch Diskontierungsfaktor genannt und ist der Faktor, mit dem man das Endkapital ( bzw. den Zeitwert eines Kapitalbetrages ) zu multiplizieren hat, um das Anfangskapital ( bzw. den Barwert ) zu berechnen.
Es gestattet die Errechnung des Barwertes (Gegenwartswertes) aus einem gegebenen Endbetrag bei gegebener Laufzeit und Verzinsung mit Hilfe des Diskontierungsfaktors.
