Einen weiteren Beweis für die Nachhaltigkeit des Vorhabens ist das Isabela-Projekt, das Energieministerium und KfW Entwicklungsbank, im Auftrag des BMZ, gemeinsam umsetzen.
Die grundlegenden Erfahrungen aus dem Projekt auf Floreana werden auf der Insel Isabela übertragen und erweitert ( scaling-up ) : beim Aufbau einer Jatropha-Produktions- und Versorgungskette sowie eines thermisches Photovoltaik-Hybridnetzes ( intelligentes Stromnetz Smart Grid ) .
